One of the materials I work with are crayons. They leave a strong solid color. They can form a resist to keep paint from flowing into an area one does not want it to flow. When I saw these on a child's toy I decided that they would make a good addition to one of my tapestries. I really enjoyed making this piece because it shows part of something I enjoy doing. It also reminds me as a kid when one was the most creative. I hope you enjoy this piece.

If you are interested in buy it please

Baby Boy Time

Baby Boy Time is a small tapestry/mixed media piece I did for one of my older sisters. She recently became a grandmother again with a grandson. Since I started doing tapestries I decided to do one for her. This piece is approximately 2.5 inches by 3.5 inches. It has a small clear blue bottle and a clear blue pacifier and little baby doll. All of additions were found pieces. It reminds me of when I was a kid. We use to get fast food as a treat. Hamburgers, fries, and a coke. This reminds me of McDonalds. As a kid it was White Castle but could not find any square hamburgers. So I settled for the McDonalds theme. This was woven as a tapestry with the icons of food woven in. The food icons are three dimensional and actual small toys. I have you enjoy this tapestry and it brings memories and smile to your face.

My Thoughs on Fiber Art

This is my blog to post my fiber art and thoughts that I have about fiber arts. I started working with fiber when I was a young child. I am presently doing some small tapestry weavings that over time I will display in this blog. I hope to get comments on my work from others.
I find that I really like working with fiber. It can be already spun yarn or unspun silk or wool. It can be waste from silk or cotton. Fiber to me can also be pastic bags that I have cut up or wire removed from electric cables that were considered trash. It can be clothing that is no longer good for wearing but has usuable areas that can be cut up and woven into a piece. I hope you enjoy future postings of my fiber art.
